As part of the Honey Festival, two innovative platforms were presented by Uzbekistan Beekeeper` Association and FAO:
(1) Mobile application "Encyclopedia of Beekeeping"
(2) Information exchange system "Arizor.uz ".
Seminars and trainings were also held for industry representatives with the participation of international experts. Classes were held not only in Tashkent, but also in Fergana and Samarkand. The seminars addressed such issues as intensive technologies in beekeeping, the organization of an accounting system reflecting the effectiveness of beekeeping, the procedure for exporting honey and the requirements of foreign countries for the quality of honey, the procedure for the treatment of bees and the use of medicines, new technologies in world beekeeping.
"The FAO project "Support for the sustainable development of beekeeping" is aimed at supporting the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan for the development of the industry. First of all, new opportunities are opening up for training and increasing the potential of beekeepers, the introduction of advanced technologies in their activities," said the Deputy Representative of FAO in Uzbekistan Sherzod Umarov.
The Honey Festival taking place in Tashkent demonstrates that if earlier beekeeping was perceived as an amateur activity, today much attention is focused on it as an important branch of agriculture.
